Intermodal Supply Chain Security

Description:

This course examines supply chains and intermodal transportation systems, the threats to them and their vulnerabilities, the potential for terrorists to use the intermodal transportation system to achieve their goals, and how the intermodal system is being secured.

 

Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Explain the interrelationship between the intermodal transportation system and supply chains
  • Identify equipment, organizational elements, and documentation used to move goods through the supply chain and the intermodal transportation system
  • Identify the major threats to the intermodal transportation system
  • Explain the various vulnerabilities of the intermodal transportation system
  • Analyze past transportation incidents to explain how terrorists might use transportation system assets for an attack
  • Explain the issues, challenges, and solutions for securing the intermodal transportation system

Law enforcement, security personnel and the general public
