Introduction to Anti-Terrorism

Description:

This course will provide general knowledge and raise the level of understanding of Anti-Terrorism for civilian and military personnel in temporary or auxiliary roles.

 

Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Define current-day terrorism
  • Understand how current-day terrorism relates to government institutions
  • Identify the differences between basic crime and terrorist activities
  • Recognize terrorist motives, list potential terrorist targets, and recognize potential terrorist tactics
  • Demonstrate knowledge of terrorist organizations in different areas of the world, identify cults and recognize how they relate to terrorism
  • Describe the inherent vulnerability of all computer systems
  • Explain how sabotage and espionage can be applied to computer networks
  • List the threats to computer systems from “outsiders,” “insiders,” and social engineering
  • Identify ways to attack terrorism through finances, legislation, U.S. counter-terrorism policy, and national security strategy
