Planning Considerations for WMD Incidents

Description:

This course offers training in the fundamentals of the emergency planning process, including the rationale behind planning. This knowledge will develop one’s capability in the all-hazard emergency operations planning process to save lives and protect communities threatened by disaster.

 

Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Answer the question, “Why plan?”
  • Describe the hazard analysis and capability assessment process
  • Describe the Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) format and content
  • Identify types of community support available and required for response and recovery
  • State the rationale for a team approach to planning
  • Describe and demonstrate EOP coordination
  • Relate exercises to the planning process
  • Develop a plan maintenance program
  • Develop and present a personal action plan for emergency planning

Audience:

First responders; executive officials; disaster assistance organizations; incident commanders; hazardous material personnel; military personnel; private sector organizations; emergency operations planners, managers, and staff; emergency communications officers; and public health technical and management personnel

 

Duration:

Eight (8) hours
