Terrorism Awareness for Law Enforcement (LE)

Description:

This course covers an introduction to and history of terrorism, indicators of a possible terrorist event, hazards involved in a Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) incident, Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), officer safety, and scene control.

 

Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Develop an understanding of terrorism
  • Identify indicators of a possible terrorist event
  • Understand the hazards of a WMD crime scene and be familiar with PPE
  • Recognize officer safety techniques to use before and during a WMD incident
  • Describe scene control techniques for a WMD incident

Audience:

Law enforcement personnel and other emergency responders

 

Duration:

Four (4) hours
