NTPI Training Opportunities
First responders enrolled in NTPI’s free online courses can earn continuing education units (CEUs) from St. Petersburg College. Once the final assessment for a course has been successfully completed, a course completion certificate is available for printing. First responders can access free online courses via the ANGEL system. A user account is required as well as verification that the course participant works for a first responder agency. Registration instructions can be found on the ANGEL registration page.
NTPI develops and delivers conventional classroom training that is high-impact, hands-on, and scenario-intensive — hallmarks of NTPI's instructional design system. NTPI also designs and develops materials for agencies to conduct their own training and supplies expert instructors to deliver training as well. Instructor-led courses developed by NTPI are delivered through St. Petersburg College's Regional Community Policing Institute (RCPI).
Training Support Packages (TSPs) provide training and subject matter expertise in an adaptable format. TSPs equip instructors with interactive training materials. A TSP typically consists of an instructor guide, a student manual, and PowerPoint slides along with a Train-the-Trainer video, classroom support video clip scenarios, and a CD-ROM containing all the information in the course. Pre-packaged courses developed by NTPI are available through the Technical Support Working Group (TSWG).
NTPI Accessible Training Options NTPI offers accessible Web-based training that suits the needs of many target audiences. The Institute works hard to ensure that its Web-based training not only meets but exceeds all of the requirements for information technology found in Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1998—as well as all of its clients' needs. |
